Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search box is sent to the outside company that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and delivers its results. Fayette County Criminal History does not keep or log the search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When someone emails us, the message may be retained long enough to review and answer it. We keep those communications within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal duty.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our systems may receive ordinary technical and usage details when a page loads:
- Page-view dates and times
- The pages opened and time spent on them
- Browser version, operating system, and device type
- The referring website, when one is supplied
- The device's assigned Internet Protocol address

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Fayette County Criminal History does not build, hold, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to official custodians, including the Fayette County Sheriff's Office, criminal courts, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Criminal Justice Information Services Division, and Tennessee Sexual Offender Registry. Visitor information is not assembled into a consumer report or a third party's criminal file. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside businesses supply the search boxes. Data submitted to one of those tools is handled under that provider's privacy terms, retention rules, and sharing practices. We do not control those decisions. Visitors should read the provider's policy before entering a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Fayette County offices, Tennessee courts and agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's privacy policy governs the visit. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising partners also may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select advertisements. Their tracking does not run under this policy.

We do not sell personal data. Limited information may be disclosed to:

Tennessee's Public Records Act, T.C.A. § 10-7-503, governs access to records held by Tennessee public bodies, not private website data. The Tennessee Sexual Offender and Violent Sexual Offender Registration, Verification and Tracking Act, including T.C.A. § 40-39-206, separately governs public registry information.
